2 1/2 weeks and my boy is coming home!!!!!!!!!!!

November 17, 2014

(I asked Alex what he wants to do the day that he gets home and also told him that he would not feel uncomfortable not having a companion because I probably will not let go of his arm J .  This is his reply: )

Real quick: can I get some extra money on my home card to mail home packages and stuff? I would appreciate that. Also, I'd prefer something kinda low-key. But I can't say I would mind eating out. Great Steak would be good, JCW's would be awesome (I've been craving cheese fries for like two weeks :P haha), or just somewhere that's not McDonald's. haha  If you still want to go to Lauren's reception, y'all can go and I can watch/catch up with the kids. I know you're not gonna let go for a while, so I need to take every chance I can to catch up with everybody else! ;) haha

Hey, hey, hey!
This week was one that didn't have too many surprises/awesome stuff. Our investigators seem to be harder and harder to get in touch with, and we've been doing a lot of less-active contacting, which is always super boring. haha
There were some awesome highlights, though! Elder Pendleton and I went on splits with two awesome members of the ward, Brother Malave and Brother Kelley.

Brother Malave was going to go with Elder Pendleton to teach Lamarre, but Lamarre cancelled, and our backup plan (visit some HT-ing families) fell through, too. So Elder Pendleton and Brother Malave went to Five Guys.

Brother Kelley and myself went to teach Lynn, and we had a great lesson! As we talked on the way home, he gave us some great ideas about how to integrate her into the ward, as well as ideas to help Jim in his progression. Brother Kelley also specifically requested to come to our next lesson with Jim, to talk to him about helping us out with scouts.

I would call it a successful night :)
On another night, all of our appointments fell through. We resorted to going through the area book and calling formers, which turned out to be an inspired decision. We called some of them, and got an appointment for an entire family who had baptismal dates last year! We are excited to go out and teach them next week. (They're Hispanic, so there will probably be dinner involved, too. SCORE!!!)
Unfortunately, Lamarre won't be able to make his November 30th baptismal date, because he didn't come to church (it's tough for him to take Sundays off, because he's a barber, and Sunday is like his biggest revenue day).

That's about it-short and sweet, y'all! Things are starting to pick up, so hopefully there will be some more cool stories next week!

(I also asked Alex what are his feelings about coming home)

Sorry-had to get off for a bit. I'm not really sure how I feel. I'm definitely excited, but I don't want to leave at the same time. I'm worried about money and girls and college and all that stuff, but excited for all of that, too... I just don't know... :P
