August 11

August 11, 2014
Hey, hey, hey!
Sorry to say, but there isn't a whole lot to report on this week. I was sicker than a dog for all of Saturday and Sunday, so we lost our prime proselyting time, in a big way.
But we did have a musical fireside on Friday, which was super awesome! We had Sister Mumford-who recently sang with the MoTab in their presentation of "The Messiah"-sing the closing number, and it was AWESOME!!! We even had a non-member there, who enjoyed it quite a bit. She met some members and made some solid connections, and we have dinner with the family who brought her! New Investigator #1 for the first time in a long time in the Avon ward? We sure hope so!
There's also a media referral that we have a lot of hope for. After Elder Johnson got transferred, he called us and said he found an old referral reporting form, and he wanted us to meet with this guy and check it out. I guess when he and Elder Paulson had stopped by earlier, he was going through a divorce, and his wife turned them away. He texted us all the info we would need, and we set off to find him. When we knocked on his door, he answered quite nicely (called us gentlemen), introduced himself, and explained that he's getting ready to send his oldest son off to school at Alabama, so we should try to contact him next week (aka TODAY!!!! haha) about a time to meet up. We're excited to get the work up and hopping here.
Other than that, not a whole lot to report on. Just another slow week of administrative hud before we have a well-oiled machine that's running so the ward can keep it up without us.
Really cool tidbit I found out this week: Elder Wright is actually in a mormon.org video, playing his ukulele back in American Samoa! So sweet! I can't tell you exactly where it is, but he showed me and it's pretty awesome! Elder Wright is definitely the man!
Love all of y'all, and I hope this finds you well :)
