Happy
belated Mother's Day to all of you moms out there!
...and
we had a big week this week, so here's the quick recap:
A.M. was baptized
yesterday. It was an incredible baptism, and we had some awesome support from
the ward! She has been ready for a while, but we had to get her to Church (she
doesn't have a car :P) She has had to overcome a lot of opposition from her
family, but she knows it's true, and she's so happy to be (confirmation
pending) a member of the Church. She's set to be an awesome member for a long
time, and we're all excited and happy for her :) She's already starting to get
some solid fellowship, especially from one of our recently activated members,
Reyna. She went up to A. and set up a dinner with the missionaries at her
house for next week. Reyna said to her, "I buy, you cook, they (Motes and
myself) clean, and we eat!" Gotta love it!
Last P-Day, we went to the restaurant
at the Top of the Prudential Tower in downtown-something like 52 stories up. We
had some incredible shots of Boston, and had some awesome clam chowder to boot
:) haha-After that, we went to Little Italy and Mike's Patries. Oh my goodness!
Their Cannolis are amazing. I should have been born Italian :) haha
We also went to a Haitian dinner with
the Haitianaries (Haitian Creole-speaking missionaries). Alourde and Zulani
(the women who make these dinners) are legendary for putting SO MUCH FOOD on
the table. Elders have literally left there and thrown up, because there was so
much food. Motes and I are always down for a challenge, so we went in,
expecting it to be extremely difficult. We came, we saw, we conquered. Easy.
And it was delicious, too :)
One day, as Elder Motes and I were
contacting less-actives downtown, we saw a possum. Yeah. In downtown Boston, a
possum came out from behind a car, close enough to kick it. Who'da thunk,
right?
We had a golden investigator, Mati,
who kinda disappeared for two weeks, but we got back in with her this last
week. Turns out, during those two weeks, she was sick, getting her twins back
from a vacation, working about 60 hours/week, and getting engaged.
haha-apparently, she sent us a picture of her ring, but our phone doesn't get
picture messages. But we're on for FHE tonight, and hopefully she'll have a
baptismal date in the next week or two (as well as her 11 and 13-year-old
daughters.)
That's the highlights of the week! (at
least those that aren't related to Skyping yesterday. But mom knows all about
that, so I'll spare all of y'all the details. Except that our Ward Mission
Leader had us over, and fed us salmon/pesto pasta. It was DELICIOUS!!)
Y'all
have a good one!
